Maisonette

The aim here was to not design another conventional block of flats but a series of houses that refer to the different needs of its occupants, in a sustainable building environment. Thus each ‘house’ is unique in terms of arrangement and these differences give the final form of the building. Two single ‘houses’ occupy the first two floors, a duplex apartment the third and fourth with a roof garden at the top.
A series of surprises and visual effects break the limits of interior spaces and extend them outside. Large voids both horizontally and vertically create points of intersection between light and shadow. Thus the house becomes a more flexible, transparent and hospitable element in its surroundings.
