An elevated old two-story house, in the northern suburbs of Athens, surrounded by a lush garden was transformed into an artistic space where timeless elegance and sophisticated luxury meet Metropolitan design.
In the living room the old marble fireplace, completely transformed, dominates with its strong color contrast of white and black, and its appearance literally hanging from the ceiling creating a feeling of lightness, which is also enhanced by the hidden lighting. However, it is the Smoke armchair by Maarten Baas for Moooi, in front of the Arco floor lamp by Flos, that makes the impression. Across from the fireplace, a low black lacquered piece of furniture and a unique piece of relief oil painting (Interni) set against a collection of colored blown glass vases by Andrea Kritikou. The contemporary vibe is complemented by the low square black coffee table from Interni.
In the dining room, a large rectangular solid ebony table from the Promemoria collection with eight simple leather chairs from B&B Italia (all by Deloudis) and a Domo Nevada (Interni) crystal chandelier hanging above the table add a classy and elegant style. Unique antique pieces, such as a pair of Viennese chairs by Michael Thonet and the contemporary urban black-and-white Aquarela (Interni) resting on the hanging lacquered bench by B&B Italia (Deloudis) create a true art collection. Different precious materials, colors and silk fabrics in a space that all work well together, without creating chaos but originality.
The sense of relaxation and tranquility found throughout the house extends to the terrace and garden. Unfinished wooden furniture from tree trunks on a gray deck is the ideal resting place for the couple’s fun evenings with their friends, giving new dynamics to family life and their love of gardening.
